Frowning, Percy pulled a pen from his pocket. He uncapped it, and all of a sudden a glowing blade sprung from it. Peter's eyes widened as Percy waved it in front of his face. "This is a pen, right?" Percy asked.
Was this kid trying to Jedi-mind-trick him? "Um, no, that's a sword. How'd you get it into the school building? Who are you? What-" Peter's mind was racing. Why could he read Greek all of a sudden? To be fair, he had never tried to, but still, this didn't make sense. Maybe spiders can read Greek? Maybe he had these skills lying dormant for a long time, but he had never tried to use them. He should squint at some French and see if he can magically translate-

It all starts with a simple walk with Sam and quite a few terrifying pigeons, but it doesn't end there. Soon enough Peter finds himself planning pranks that go devastatingly wrong and end up with him either horribly embarrassed, covered in cake batter, or both.

“I'm fine, I swear. I'm just a bit cold,” Peter undermines, but puts on the jacket nonetheless. It’s black with white embroidery of a caffeine molecule on the right shoulder. “Do I get to make fun of your nerdy jacket?” He weakly chuckles before tipping to his left. Tony’s eyes widen and he manages to stabilize him with one arm, making the car swerve slightly in the process.
“Pete?! Kid!” He lightly shakes Peter, his eyes darting between him and the road. Peter’s eyelids lower, then raise, then lower again.
“I’m just tired,” he assures in a mumble, but even he can tell something is wrong. The exhaustion isn't the same as typical fatigue, but his muddled brain can't figure out why.
“Dammit, let’s get you warm. Eyes up, no sleeping. Tell me what Maxwell’s equations are.” His gentle orders contrast his rising anxiety. He can't let anything happen to this kid.
