The Shadows of Choice

Summary:

Harry, Sirius, Severus, Remus, Hermione, Neville, Luna, Hermione, Blaise, Theo, and Draco all flee and go to Forks. They are hiding out there when Luna has a vision that sends them to High School. She swears that Harry will meet his soul mate.

Harry is sick and recovering from the treatment of his relatives and his time at Hogwarts. He doesn't believe in Soul Mates and just wants to be left alone with his weird family. He wants nothing to do with vampires and Sirius' extended family of wolves.

Eventually, they move to St. Louis and Harry's stalker follows.

Chapter Text

Harry had fled to Forks, Washington just wishing to escape. He didn't want to be around anything to do with war. Not anymore. He was done with it. He had been here for a month now.

"You had to pick the rainest place in America." A voice sighed.

Harry lifted his head from the car window and looked next to him to see Sirius.

"Huh?" he asked.

"Are you okay?" Sirius asked worriedly. "Are you going to be sick? We should go home not to school."

"No, it's okay." Luna said from the seat in front of them. She turned around and smiled at Harry. "You're going to meet some very special people today."

"Are we?" Draco sighed from where he was sitting next to her and Nevile.

"Well, yes, all of us are going to meet them but one of them will be Harry's special person. His Soul Mate." Luna informed.

"Oh, joy." Harry said. He was feeling feverish and weak but he'd been like that for a long time now.

"Pass this back to Potter, Granger." Severus said from where he sat in the front of the van with Remus who was driving.

"Pass this to Harry, Neville." Hermione said passing a vial back to Neville. "Remus, Theo is kicking me!"

"I am not!" Theo Nott snapped. "My foot is asleep. I'm trying to wake it up!"

"Can't you two shut up?" Blaise Zabini sighed.

They were in the second row of the van.

"Here, Harry." Neville handed the potion back.

They all watched Harry down it.

The kids of Forks all watched the church van pull into the parking lot. It didn't look for a spot just circled until the sliding door was facing the school. They watched as three, then six, and then a seventh teen got out. The last one shut the door and the van drove off again.

"Whose idea was this?" Harry groused.

"Hermione, Theo, and Blaise's." Draco mumbled. "Remus agreed with them."

"Don't the rest of us outvote them?" Harry wondered as he walked between Luna and Hermione.

"We do." Neville sighed. "But Snape said "You're all going to High School!" in that voice that said this is an order and you better do as I say voice, that he has and here we are."

"Oh, that makes sense." Harry sighed. He looked at his schedule. "Who has English 11 first?"

"You've got me." Draco said.

"and me." Theo and Luna chorused.

"Alright then the four of us have to go this way..." Harry muttered.

Luna turned Harry in the opposite direction.

The three of them walked with him as the others went toward their class.

"I'm sorry, sir." Draco said to the teacher. "But our friend Harry here has SADS so it would be best if one of us sit with him."

"SADS?" the teacher asked cocking his eyebrow.

"Social Anxiety Disorder." Draco informed. He'd learned this from Hermione and they were to tell all of their teachers that Harry had it because Harry refused to leave any of their sides.

"Ah, yes." the teacher nodded. "I have a niece who has that but I've never heard it referred to as SADs before. Why don't you and Miss. Lovegood sit together, Mr. Potter."

Harry was fine with that. He and Luna were now sitting at a two-person desk with Draco in front of Harry and Theo behind him.

Edward tensed when an intense smell hit him. It was the sweetest most delicious smell he'd ever smelled before but it didn't make him hungry. It was one of the new kids but which one? There were five new kids in this class. Lovegood, Potter, Malfoy, Nott, and Swan. Swan's blood made him hungry so it wasn't her. It had to be one of the other ones. His eyes zoomed in on the one called Potter. He was positive that it was him.

Luna giggled a bit.

"What?" Harry mumbled.

"Do you feel it yet?" Theo wondered leaning forward.

"Feel?" Harry wondered. "I'm having issues feeling anything. But yeah, I suppose I'm feeling a strong pull."

"Yeah?" Draco wondered leaning back. "Can you tell who?"

Harry shook his head.

"Do you four have something to say about Romeo and Juliet?" the teacher snapped.

"Yeah, it's stupid and I hate it." Harry stated boldly. "True love doesn't exist and by the way, it has been proven that females more commonly go for the poison over the dagger so it's also inaccurate."

There was laughter in the class and Harry was getting glared at by most of the female population of class. He couldn't care less.

"Have you ever even read the play?!" The teacher snapped.

"But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief,
That thou her maid art far more fair than she:
Be not her maid, since she is envious;
Her vestal livery is but sick and green
And none but fools do wear it; cast it off.
It is my lady, O, it is my love!
O, that she knew she were!
She speaks yet she says nothing: what of that?
Her eye discourses; I will answer it.
I am too bold, 'tis not to me she speaks:
Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven,
Having some business, do entreat her eyes
To twinkle in their spheres till they return.
What if her eyes were there, they in her head?
The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars,
As daylight doth a lamp; her eyes in heaven
Would through the airy region stream so bright
That birds would sing and think it were not night.
See, how she leans her cheek upon her hand!
O, that I were a glove upon that hand,
That I might touch that cheek!"
Harry said dramatically.

"Ay Me." Luna answered in her dreamy voice.

"She speaks:
O, speak again, bright angel! for thou art
As glorious to this night, being o'er my head
As is a winged messenger of heaven
Unto the white-upturned wondering eyes
Of mortals that fall back to gaze on him
When he bestrides the lazy-pacing clouds
And sails upon the bosom of the air.
"

"O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

"Does that prove that we know the play?" Harry asked. "I hate it. It's all one man's perception and interpretation of what love should be. He finished right at least. Love can only lead to death. It's not worth it."

Edward didn't know why but his heart hurt to hear those words. Then he got it. He was right Harry Potter was his mate. He sighed. His Mate didn't believe in love. How was he supposed to get Harry to be his then? He wanted nothing more than to be with his mate.

Harry was exhausted come lunch. His head hit the table that they were sitting at. Luna was rubbing his back. He was getting lectured by Hermione as five people sat on the side of the table that they weren't sitting at.

"I can't believe you told off the teacher!" Hermione was scolding. "Doing that to Severus is one thing doing that here is another! You can't do that, Harry! Your name means nothing here!"

At least the whole lunch hall couldn't hear her only those at the table.

"I just said what I thought." Harry moaned as Luna forced a spoonful of pudding into his mouth. It was good and butterscotch. But then it should be, as he had been the one that had made it. "Just give me a break, 'Mione, I'm really not myself right now or I wouldn't have said it out loud."

"Yes, you would have!" she snipped. "and we all know it!"

Harry shrugged and let Luna feed him. He enjoyed it.

"Harry, stop eating Luna's pudding!" Hermione snapped. "Here, Luna eat mine. I'm not a fan of butterscotch...."

"You will never talk to me again!" Harry said sitting up and glaring at her. "How.Dare.You."

Draco, Theo, Blaise, and Neville were all laughing but Hermione looked hurt and worried. Luna was just enjoying the pudding.

Emmett was trying not to laugh as was Alice. Even Jasper was fighting a smile. Edward was amused as well but Rosalie was trying and failing to not pay attention.

Alice finally had enough.

"Hello!" she sang.

"Ha!" Harry smirked. "Pay up, losers! Exactly five minutes into them sitting down."

The others grumbled and slapped some money into his hands.

"How did you not win this bet?" Neville asked Luna gently.

"Hmm....that is a question." Luna hummed.

"Oh, you had a bet going on when we would talk to you?" Alice wondered.

"No, when you would talk to us." Draco corrected. "Luna insisted that it would be you who talked to us."

"I'm Alice Cullen, these are my brother Emmett and Edward. My boyfriend Jasper Hale and his sister Rosalie Hale." Alice informed.

"Hermione Granger." Hermione said instantly. "These are my friends. Harry Potter, and Luna Lovegood. Over there is Luna's boyfriend Neville Longbottom. Then we have Theo Nott, Blaise Zabini, and finally Draco Malfoy."

"Oh, no relations?" Rosalie wondered.

"Neville is my tenth cousin on my mother's side." Draco informed. "Luna is my third cousin on father's side. Theo is my seventeenth cousin on both sides, the same with Blaise and Harry is my...." Draco frowned. "Uh....Harry, did we ever figure that out?"

"I'm Sirius' fourth cousin so I'm your fifth on your mother's side." Harry informed him. "I asked Sirius."

"I'm unrelated."

"Not true, you are related to the Dagworth-Grangers so you are Draco's second cousin on his father's side." Harry yawned. "I asked Sev."

Hermione and Draco seemed less than thrilled.

"That is a lot of deep connections." Emmett said frowning.

"Oh, it gets worse if you try to figure it out from our families." Theo shrugged. "We've tried it gave even Hermione a migraine."

Edward was frowning he couldn't read any of their minds. He couldn't read Bella Swan's mind either. What was going on? He didn't care he'd learned something very important today. His love liked Butterscotch.
