Kuroninja's Christmas 2023

Summary:

A collection of stories about Kuroninja for the Christmas season of 2023

Notes:

I had a lot of ideas for Kuroninja Christmas stories this year so I gathered them up and ended up with 5 stories. I don't know if this counts as a series of one-shots because the stories are connected to each other, but each one can be enjoyed separately, except the last one which ties the first four stories together.

Chapter 1: The Chase Against Don Kuroninja

Notes:

As the first entry in this collection of Christmas stories, this was one of my favourite ones to write. I don't know why but I've enjoyed writing the stories with Patren 3gou in them the most.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Kuroninja was on his way to get some salmon for a Christmas party he was planning. Usually people ate fried chicken on Christmas Eve, but Kuroninja was a pescatarian so he ate salmon instead. Just when Kuroninja was about to enter the fish market, he sensed something flying at him and ducked.

Kuroninja almost got hit by a gold ring that hit the concrete wall behind him and left a large cut behind. He turned around and saw a guy with golden armour who had thrown the ring.

“Who are you?” Kuroninja said, with his sword drawn.

“I am Golden Guy,” the guy in golden armour said. “You just ruined the greatest robbery we’ve got planned!”

“I’m not letting you rob this fish market!” Kuroninja said. He then got out his sword and charged at Golden Guy. Golden Guy blocked Kuroninja’s sword with his gold rings. He then spun around, slashing Kuroninja with those rings before kicking him over a car that was driving by.

Kuroninja rolled to the ground. He tried to get up, but then Golden Guy threw a ring at him and disarmed him. Golden Guy then pointed another ring at Kuroninja.

“You lost,” Golden Guy said. “Now hand over all your money!”

Suddenly, a police car appeared, and out came someone Kuroninja hadn’t seen in months.

“Hands up!” a voice said. It was Tsukasa Myoujin, one of Kuroninja’s girlfriends and the pink ranger of Keisatsu Sentai Patranger.

“Oh, ok,” Golden Guy said. He put his hands up, but then threw one of his rings behind him at Tsukasa. Tsukasa rolled out of the way and called out “Keisatsu Change!”

Tsukasa transformed into Patren 3gou and fired a lot of shots at Golden Guy, who spun his rings around his arms to deflect as much shots as he could. Golden Guy then threw his rings at Patren 3gou, who dodged them and then fired a shot at Golden Guy, taking him down. Kuroninja then got up and jumped into the air, delivering a powerful slash to Golden Guy.

Golden Guy fell to the ground and untransformed, revealing what he looked like under the armour. Golden Guy had gold hair and an arm tattoo that looked like Kuroninja’s helmet. Kuroninja noticed this for a brief moment.

“You’re under arrest for attempted robbery,” Tsukasa said. She then put Golden Guy in handcuffs and brought him into the police car. Then she turned around.

“Long time no see, Kuroninja!” Tsukasa said.

Later, after Tsukasa’s shift, she and Kuroninja met up at the park to catch up with each other.

“So what were you doing all this time?” Kuroninja asked. “I haven’t heard from you in months!”

“I was on a very special case,” Tsukasa said. “That guy you helped me catch is part of a new crime syndicate that just showed up, but they’ve suddenly become more influential around here.”

“You could’ve let me help you,” Kuroninja said.

“Here’s the thing,” Tsukasa said. “Most of the guys we caught all had a tattoo of your helmet, so you’re the main suspect.”

“What!?” Kuroninja said. “But that Golden Guy…I didn’t even know him! And he attacked me!”

“Don’t worry,” Tsukasa said. “I believe in you. I know you’re not the ringleader.”

“Of course I’m not,” Kuroninja said. “I’ve got to find out who it is, though. Please let me help you, Tsukasa!”

“Ok,” Tsukasa said, “but be careful. This is police business.”

Kuroninja returned to his house, where Ayame was waiting.

“Welcome home,” Ayame said. “How was your meeting with Tsukasa?”

“It went well,” Kuroninja said. “I’ve got some business to take care of.”

“Good luck,” Ayame said.

The next day, Kuroninja got a text from Tsukasa telling him to meet her outside a shady-looking bar. He found her in casual clothes.

“Golden Guy was a high-ranking lieutenant,” Tsukasa said. “We got him to tell us the location of his group’s base, and it’s right here, in this bar.”

“We’re going in here, right?” Kuroninja asked.

“Yeah,” Tsukasa said. “Try and find some evidence, or some clues on who is the ringleader.”

Kuroninja walked inside the building. Some of the patrons were minding their own business, drinking beer, while others stared at him as he walked in. He sat down at the bar and looked around. A tall, beautiful woman with blonde hair then approached and sat next to Kuroninja.

“You don’t look like a regular here,” the woman said.

“I was getting tired on my walk and needed a place to sit down,” Kuroninja said.

“Why don’t you stay here a while?” the woman said. “The name’s Liliana Nightshade. What’s yours?”

“They call me Kuroninja,” Kuroninja said.

“Did you say Kuroninja?” Liliana said. “You do look tired…here, let me show you a place you can rest.”

Kuroninja followed Liliana to a room. She then closed the door gently.

“Now, Kuroninja,” Liliana said, “I want to learn more about you. Please, tell me more about yourself.”

Liliana moved closer to Kuroninja, and suddenly the two of them were making out on the bed. The two of them rolled around the bed as they made out, until Kuroninja was lying on the bed in a starfish position. Some cuffs then emerged from the mattress and trapped Kuroninja by his arms and legs to the bed.

Liliana got off the bed, and two brutish-looking guys entered the room.

“Take him to the boss,” Liliana said. The guys walked towards Kuroninja and knocked him out.

A few minutes later, Kuroninja woke up tied to a chair. His vision was blurry for a bit, but when it cleared up, he saw those same two guys and Liliana Nightshade standing in front of a guy in a rotating chair whose back was turned towards him. Liliana Nightshade now had two small horns on her head and a pair of purple bat wings on her back, but other than that, she looked the same.

“So it was you who got Golden Guy in jail,” the guy in the chair said. “It’s been a long time since we met, hasn’t it…Kuroninja of Earth 1?”

The chair slowly turned around to face Kuroninja, revealing none other than the leader of the criminal organization. He wore a black pinstripe suit and a dark grey tie. He was holding a cigar on his right hand, which had a missing pinky finger. Covering his head was a helmet that looked the exact same as Kuroninja’s.

“Don Kuroninja,” Kuroninja said. “It was you?”

“Of course it was me,” Don Kuroninja said. “Zenkaiser ruined my whole operation on Earth 6, and things got too unstable for my operation to continue on Earth 96. But now, with Christmas season coming up, I’m going to steal all the money from Earth 1 and sell it on Earth 893’s black market!”

“I can’t let you do that!” Kuroninja said.

“You’ve already taken Jackpot Striker from me 4 years ago,” Don Kuroninja said. “But since you’re all tied up, you’re never ruining my business again!”

Don Kuroninja then snapped his fingers, and a guy in a black and red robe emerged from the shadows.

“This is Metus, my most violent enforcer,” Don Kuroninja said. “He’s going to deal with you.”

Metus revealed a transformation belt under his robe and swiped a black card with red accents on it.

“Henshin!” Metus said. He then transformed into an armoured warrior in a black suit with red accents and a red visor, who carried a longsword with a jagged blade. The suit crackled with red sparks.

Metus charged at Kuroninja and prepared to finish him off with his sword, but then a police car crashed through the wall, and three police officers, Keiichiro Asaka, Sakuya Hikawa, and Tsukasa Myoujin, all got out and confronted Don Kuroninja.

“Police! Don’t move!”

“Get them,” Don Kuroninja said. His henchmen then jumped out and joined Metus in fighting the 3 police officers, but they fought back and transformed into Patren 1gou, Patren 2gou, and Patren 3gou. Don Kuroninja and Liliana Nightshade moved to a safer location.

“Patren 1gou!”

“Patren 2gou!”

“Patren 3gou!”

“Keisatsu Sentai Patranger!”

While the Patrangers were dealing with Don Kuroninja’s henchmen, Kuroninja tried to untie the ropes that bound him to his chair. The henchmen had all been taken down by the Patrangers, but Metus was the only one left. Metus unleashed a very strong attack, and bolts of red lightning struck the Patrangers, taking them down.

Patren 1gou then got up, refusing to lose to Metus that easily. He then got out Trigger Machine Biker and fired a blast of energy in the shape of a wheel at Metus, knocking him down.

“Alright, let’s finish this!” Patren 1gou said. He then got out GoodStriker, and all the Patrangers fused into Patren Ugou, before firing a shot at Metus. The shot was so strong that it knocked Metus down, and he untransformed.

“You’ve got no more henchmen to hide behind,” Patren 1gou said. “Give up now!”

“I guess I have no choice but to get my own hands dirty,” Don Kuroninja said. Liliana  gave him a transformation belt, which he put in his waist. He then got out a card similar to the one Metus used to transform, but it had green accents instead of red.

“Force Idolize,” Don Kuroninja said. He then swiped the card on the transformation device and pieces of green armour appeared around him. The armour pieces then flew around before sticking to Don Kuroninja, forming a brand new armoured form for him.

Don Kuroninja pointed his arm at the Patrangers. Patren 1gou and Patren 2gou charged at him, but Don Kuroninja took care of them quickly with machine gun fire from a compartment in the armour on his arm. He then kicked Patren 3gou in the face and pointed his arm at her.

“This was your case, wasn’t it?” Don Kuroninja said. “I guess I’ll deal with you first!”

Right before Don Kuroninja could attack Patren 3gou, he was stopped by a black shuriken that almost hit him. Don Kuroninja turned around and saw that Kuroninja had untied himself. In his hands was his sword, which had a fiery aura around it.

“Back off, Don Kuroninja,” Kuroninja said.

“I’m all powered up now,” Don Kuroninja said. “You don’t stand a chance against me.”

“You’re not the only one who’s powered up,” Kuroninja said. He then looked at Patren 3gou.

“Hey, Patren 3gou,” Kuroninja said. “Here’s something I’ve been up to while you weren’t around.” He then pointed his sword at Don Kuroninja and called out “Greater Idolize!”

The colour of Kuroninja’s blade turned red, and a red armour with gold accents formed around Kuroninja, making him almost look like a samurai. Kuroninja now had the power of a red-haired idol with a very long name.

Don Kuroninja fired a barrage of shots at Kuroninja, but Kuroninja had his sword ready and blocked all of them. He then swung his sword, but Don Kuroninja blocked it with one of his hands. He then kicked Kuroninja back, but Kuroninja picked his sword up and it began to have that fiery aura again. Kuroninja dealt more damage to Don Kuroninja with his sword, and then he prepared for his finisher.

“Time to finish this,” Kuroninja said. “Hundredfold Slash!”

Kuroninja jumped at Don Kuroninja and took him down with a slash from his sword. Don Kuroninja fell down and his armour disappeared.

“Kuroninja always wins,” Kuroninja said.

Don Kuroninja and all of his henchmen were arrested, but the underboss, Liliana Nightshade, was nowhere to be found. Kuroninja was now with Tsukasa.

“I knew you weren’t the ringleader,” Tsukasa said.

“It’s been years since I fought Don Kuroninja,” Kuroninja said. “Where are you taking him?”

“There’s a special facility that can hold him,” Tsukasa said. “I don’t think that belt he used was part of the Lupin Collection. By the way, where did you get that power?”

“It’s a long story,” Kuroninja said.

“Well, I’ve got to get back to the station to do the paperwork,” Tsukasa said. “It was nice to see you again, Kuroninja.”

“Tsukasa, wait!” Kuroninja said.

“What is it?” Tsukasa asked.

“The kunoichi and I are going to throw a big Christmas party, do you want to come?”

“Sure,” Tsukasa said. “See you then!”

Tsukasa left for the station with the other Patrangers, and Kuroninja headed back to his house. Little did they know, Liliana was watching them from a safe distance.

Notes:

The idea behind this story was that Kuroninja hadn't seen Tsukasa Myoujin in months.

Don Kuroninja & his syndicate have appeared. The first appearance of Metus and Liliana Nightshade was not in a Kuroninja story, but in a now-discontinued solo Toku D&D campaign. Golden Guy was supposed to appear in that campaign, but then the series got discontinued.

Don Kuroninja's new form & his henchmen were all inspired by the vibes of all my favourite members of an idol group called JUGS MAFIA. Some of them have already graduated from the group since I came up with the concepts for these characters.

Kuroninja eats salmon instead of fried chicken on Christmas because he's a pescetarian.
