A time travel based retcon of the Buff/Angel series. The story picks up immediately following the end of the comics, but won't require any foreknowledge of them to read. And will quickly jump back in time.
The present events will pick up just at the start of the Angel Season 5 Episode 15 episode "A Hole in the World" and will act as an alternative sequel to that story. hope you enjoy.
Also being set up as a prequel to the 'The Next Generation' Buffy novel trilogy. Essentially using time travel as an explanation for the new continuity. And because I liked that continuation better.

Summary
In 2001 and when Yahoo! Groups were first invented, I created Forging Ghost. It was dedicated to Spangel, aka Angel and Spike fan fiction. It was one of the few places that brought together all of the writers I'd found, who were posting on Geocities, Live Journal, etc.
Unfortunately, Yahoo! discontinued their Groups in 2020.
I was thankfully able to able to save most of the stories that were posted to the Group, which a lot of their writers didn't even do. I actually used to Beta a lot of them myself and I had quite a few dedications made to me.
I really am going to upload those stories here, to Squidge and Discord...but it's a massive undertaking, since I'm not the author and I need to make sure that they're appropriately credited, even if they left the Fandom 20 years later.
Now, something that I used to do on Forging Ghost was to create Challenges. They're ideas I had, which I would post to the Group and a lot of people responded. I wrote almost 300, as well as creating a yearly Ficathon and there were a lot of responses, which I've uploaded also:

Summary
The first thing he does is post a letter to an old estate in England. Call it petty, call it bitter, all he knows is that it makes him feel better.
The second thing he does, weeks after he's able to adjust to the world, is corner a very special man in his office. The door is locked while Wesley is on the phone, back toward the door, as he argues over an acquisition of some sort. His mistake is ignoring the telltale tingle of a vampire on the back of his neck, clearly surprised to see platinum blonde hair and blue eyes when Wesley finally finishes his business.

Giles would recognize what voice out of a million. Even after decades.
He lowers his bat and just stares.“Will…” he whispers. This can’t be true.
“Is it just me, or did that vampire just called Giles ‘Love’?” Giles hears Xander in the background.
He can’t stop starring at Will. He looks like they just met yesterday and not two decades ago. His hair is a bit different. Shorter and blonder.“Giles?” Buffy asks carefully and it’s only now that Giles realizes everyone is starring at them.
“How? You… you look…” he starts, but then it hits him. Suddenly he feels sick. Will, William the Bloody, Spike. He said it himself; Spike was barely 200 years old. Will had been a vampire all this time.

This is how Angelus & William first meet--my version. It involves a chance-meeting and instant attraction that will quickly spiral into something more. There will be a good bit of smut & violence and some fluff as well even though Angelus is most definitely not a fluffy character.
I am currently starting Chapter 7 and will be posting it in-between my Postlude chapters.For those of you just starting to read my fics, you can start here or on Postlude. I've kind of been bouncing back and forth as the story evolves so it doesn't really matter which you read first.

This is an AU work although it draws from canon--Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. It picks up after Spike burns up on the Hellmouth but will eventually become drastically different. Thank you to everyone who has been enjoying this story! I've edited some of my previously posted chapters because the background story has evolved as I've been writing this. It's not too major, so you don't have to reread earlier chapters if you don't want, although you may find a few discrepancies later on so bear that in mind.
I'm currently working on Chapter 17 of this one and am on Chapter 7 of a prequel of how Angelus and William first met. I've also got a third section circulating in my brain that'll cover their interactions during Buffy the Vampire Slayer if anybody is interested.
