Lae’zel is a terse woman of few words; Githyanki culture cares not for excess or expression it seems, favoring directness, clarity and precision—much like her sword work. Shadowheart is very guarded and standoff-ish, though that seems to be more directed toward Lae’zel. Gith, I imagine, also have very little use for religion, so for Shadowheart to have dedicated herself so completely and zealously to her faith must be as alien to her as she is to us. Astarion seems well-practiced in the art of casual deflection in conversation, utilizing it to put the nasty business of holding a dagger to my throat behind him. He’s not made any threatening movements in my direction since, and I’m content to let bygones be bygones in all three cases. There is just one thing that troubles me, however:
