Summary
House Targaryen has lost many members to death and fate. But what if it wasn't fate that took those before their time? What if it was manmade?
The Valyrian gods aren't holding back from those that caused the Dance of Dragons. The gods have seen Viserys first of his name is a lost cause they skip him go and send his younger brother a dream. A dream that is to save a member of his family. Can Daemon save them before time runs out? Can he protect his Nieces from those that wish to hurt his family? Viserys is too far gone into the Hightower's hands. So, they throw in a wrench that is Laena Valeryon being married also to Viserys. Can the Hightower's get their blood upon the throne?

Aemond freezes as those words leave his brother's lips, the desperation in the elders eyes and voice pierce straight through his body as he contemplates what has just been said. The weight of Aegon's hands on his cheeks become heavier with each passing second. Aemond almost considers it.
And then he feels something, a sharp blooming pain burning in his right side as he falls to the ground.
"Aegon! You- did you just fucking stab me?!"
Aegon manages to get away from Aemond and Criston when they come looking for him after Viserys' death. He does not want to be king, about that, he is absolutely certain. But a Prince of the realm can only run so far before he is recognised and dragged kicking and screaming back to his mother and grandfather. So where is safe?
Well, behind enemy lines of course. Inside the fortress of Dragonstone. With the Blacks.
Right beside his older half-sister and her guard dog of a husband who would probably have his head on a spike the second he saw him.

The Second Targaryen Conquest of Westeros, otherwise known as the Conquest of 141 AC, is decidedly simple by the standards of wars or conquests, but has far more complicated origins that could be argued to stretch back as far as the First Conquest, but to avoid esoteric arguments I find it most practical to start with the year 106 AC.
Or: Rhaenyra runs away to Dragonstone before she is named heir. She still becomes Queen, it just takes a little longer.

There was no record of what happens to a dragon rider who outlives it's dragon other than Viserys. There was also no record of a rider claiming a second dragon.
Lucerys Velaryon is the first in known history to claim a second dragon. A sweet boy once beloved by all turned into a mad monster. Known as the second coming of Maegor the Cruel. No one can say when Lucerys Velaryon went mad.
The first possibility was with the death of his first dragon Arrax.
Others whisper that it was with the death of his brother, the honorable gentleman, loved and respected by all, Jacaerys Velaryon known by mandate of the Black Queen as Jacaerys Targaryen.
