"You think I'm not aware of every heartbeat on this ship?" A sharp, angry voice comes from behind them, and the man holding them in the air turns around to face his captain.
"Oh, fuck," they say, with great feeling. Their hands fumble at their breast pocket and pull out a small card with a flourish. "You, uh, wanna take my business card?" They sheepishly ask (1) enraged Captain of the Heart Pirates. -

What he was unprepared for was the familiar pair of dark blue eyes that made eye contact with him. The same pair of eyes he had last seen nearly 8 years ago, before they had disappeared from his life without a trace. That was until he found several years later that they were traveling with the Whitebeard Pirates. Learned those beautiful eyes that always reminded him of their nights under the stars together, had shacked up with “Fire Fist” Ace, seeming to have forgotten about him.
First off, it wasn’t Junko’s choice to leave. How could she ever leave the one person in the world who understood her history? It's as if he was given a second chance to live again, this time under the wings of his loving younger brother, but he wasn't sure if he was ready to let go of his pride, ego and most of all, the past that haunted him.

It was weird for Penguin to see Law with a mate after years of helping him with custom suppressants and helping him with his own scent. Penguin was an original heart pirate and grew up with Law, so the Beta rule didn’t apply to him; he was an Alpha but, honestly, not the showiest or aggressive kind, making his gender fly under the radar for most.
A small part of the Alpha missed helping his friend and Captain with his gender needs.
