Regulus doesn't like much things, and the few things he does like only ever last for a moment. But one thing he likes .. no, loves is the astronomy tower. It was his own little escape, just him and the stars.
Since his first year, after losing his brother, Regulus practically lived in the astronomy tower, he would go there every and any other moment when he was not with Barty, Evan or Dorcas, let's not forget Pandora. Sometimes they'd even tag along.
On the day that Regulus found out James had replaced him as Sirius' brother, he swore he would get revenge, he would make James pay. But everything came crashing down as Regulus started to fall for James, his stupid happy-go-lucky personality and that stupid cheeky smile that Regulus just couldn't get enough of.

James holds on to the thought of possibly finding his one true love at Hogwarts; he has always been a hopeless romantic and even now, at the age of eleven, when most boys find girls appalling and want nothing to do with them, he hopes that he will leave Hogwarts with a love story as good as his parents’, which he can then tell his own children in the future.
Of course, life never quite seems to work out the way, we imagine it to. James Potter, certainly, does not imagine his life to take the turns, that it does. As it turns out, this is not quite the love story, he was expecting at the age of eleven.

As the upcoming skating star of the Black family, Regulus can't afford to lose–and the absolute last thing he needs is a hockey player to mess everything up for him. All he needs is for James to stay out of his way, and he'll be good as gold.
James doesn't stay out of his way. And Regulus has a long way to go before he can even think about bearing a medal around his neck.
