Peace lies lightly across the land and there are forays into the lands of Light by the forces of darkness, but neither side has the ability to do large scale war across the Boundary the Primordial created.
Recently, people doing research on magical transportation have begun disappearing. Greed and power struggles threaten to unleash ancient power that could waken and wipe out the foundation of the current civilization. And someone is trying to smuggle a critical device to the Shadowlands that could give them just the key to attack the Light and win, or destroy everything.
So why does a former school teacher surrounded by a flock of pixies seem to be connected to so many involved with the chaos about to unfold?

Summary
Ivan Mournbeam is a seemingly normal teenage girl. She attends school, has a few friends, studies for her classes and has hobbies, passions and aspirations for the future. A hobby of hers includes collecting trinkets she finds at the shore, especially stones and small boulders with intricate shapes. However, on one of her her nightly struts down the coast, she finds a rather peculiar stone of a shape that catches her eye. After bringing it home, she never meets the coast again.

This work is a small side project and won't be taken as seriously as my main novel 'Bloodkissed'. This is more of a novella that I occasionally put words in as a way to step back from more serious and darker topics that are more eminent in 'Bloodkissed'. I do not expect this to receive much popularity. 'Meadow' is an outlet for me to experiment writing in first person before I am ready to start drafting the sequel to 'Bloodkissed' after I have completed it (I do have concrete plans to complete it in June and start the sequel in June / July. If this gains traction, I'll put more effort into it. For now, it's just for fun. This is a direct reference to the relationship between me and my close friend <3 -

The defeat of Voldemort did not result in an instantaneous and total victory for the good guys. A desperate attempt to escape an attack from the surviving Death Eaters resulted in a group of wizarding refugees being transported to the world of ASOIAF/GoT and scattered across time and space.

Sometimes I like to imagine that as an outsider, someone new to this world, I have a special view of things. A new perspective of sorts. Acting like I contribute something just by experiencing the most mundane experiences. Have we not all been shaped by our past, our lives? Am I not inherently different to everyone else here? Has the pain and uniqueness of my life not made me what I am? This thinking is nothing but an attempt to make myself feel better about my predicament. This train of thought serves nothing but giving my ego the tiny boost it so desperately needs. A reminder that i used to be more. Someone stronger, someone more important. I stood out. now I am one with the masses, I am the masses. Mortal, fragile, on my way out of the metaphorical door of life. My death might be the one singular experience in my life that actually makes me stand out. That is because, simply put, I wasn't supposed to die.

Steve is a Guardian, sworn to protect the King of O'er-the-Hill's Prophesied. It all sounds rather noble, but in reality he's a glorified baby sitter for these bratty Unseelie, with nothing but a migraine and a fancy badge to prove it. His life's plodded along steadily and stressfully, until his unruly Prophesied fucks it all up by pissing off the wrong half-orc and winds up dead. Now Steve has to find a replacement Unseelie, train them to meet King Alexander's weirdly specific standards, and make sure no one else in the castle knows the difference, because it's not just his job on the line, it's his head.
Now isn't it as well the Unseelie Princess's pet assassin, Bucky, is looking for a way to infiltrate the Seelie kingdom? It all works out perfectly, in Bucky's mind. It'd be a shame if he were to go and do something remarkably stupid and dangerous, like falling in love with the enemy... wouldn't it?
