Summary
Rose is alone in Pete's World and is determined to return to her original universe. All she wants to do now is keep running and avoid the Doctor (the fully time-lord one). Being abandoned without even a 'goodbye' left Rose feeling rather sour towards him. She has all of time and space at her disposal now; how hard can it be to avoid one alien man who also travels in it?
Years ago, Jackie Tyler was right- she isn't Rose Tyler now. She isn't even human.

One evening she finally gets her chance and has to live with the consequence of her curiosity, as she gets to know her parents past first hand.

The basement seemed to vibrate with energy, and Mia felt a strange sensation, as if the very fabric of reality around her was shifting. The air crackled with an otherworldly power, and Mia's hair stood on end.

“Hold on–Doctor, be careful!” Rose whispers (yells) as he switches between clawing at her waiting hand and the stone ledge. Out of all the hasty and ill-timed decisions to pull on the day before their wedding, scaling her balcony was not one she thought him capable of, and for that, she could just about smack herself on the forehead for being so naive.

Davros and The Dalek Crucible were destroyed in "Journey's End" but in this version of the story The Meta-Crisis Doctor was sadly killed by Davros and didn't survive due to being human. The Doctor and his friends successfully take the earth back to it's original place and they have all had their happy celebration together in the Tardis. Then the time comes for some friends to return home, others to make their own paths. In Rose and Donna's case it is not their wish to go back to a normal life. What will happen for them now.

Rose couldn’t help but laugh as she stepped back to admire her husband’s handiwork, looping an arm around his waist as he came to stand next to her, “Not half bad, don’t you think, Rose Tyler?” She gazed down at her daughter, now wobbling around the room in the toddler-ish way that she did, dressed from head to toe in an honest-to-god Slitheen costume.

His heartbeat was going crazy under the strain of moving sluggish, drugged-up blood through his heavy limbs. His stomach felt tied in an awful, demanding knot of tension and hunger. The stupid florescent lights in the Torchwood hallways burned his eyes.
But most of his concentration was on his bond with Rose – a thread, a spider’s string in his mind, tiny but strong. She was fine. Since he woke up he could sense little tickles of reassurance – like the breath of a whisper on his neck, an acknowledgment between them that they were aware of each other’s continued existence.
It was that more than anything else that was keeping him from burning this entire city to the ground.

The Doctor felt his counterpart's regeneration. He was frozen, stuck between the lines where his two selves collide while Rose was captured. Now she's lost, and its his job, as her husband - as her Doctor - to find her. But there are obstacles in his life that keep getting in the way. It's rather unlucky for the bad guys that Rose has never been a damsel in distress.Set right after Between the Lines, this story follows the Doctor and Rose as they try to find a way back together after being forcefully separated.
