Summary
Seven years into the apocalypse, Joel and Tommy have just ‘retired’ to the Boston QZ. But, the things they did to survive in the outside world have strained the relationship, and Tommy joins the Fireflies in rebellion. Now, Joel has to rescue his ‘joiner’ brother once again. Only problem: he needs a truck battery.
Enter Nora. Having resided in the QZ since the outbreak, she was assigned to the horticultural sector after being deemed ‘too soft’ for military rotations. Her only joy is found in the books she steals from the old library on the outskirts of the zone. Unfortunately, that's also where she finds herself at the wrong end of a Clicker.
When the bite that should kill her begins to heal, it’s clear that Nora has to get out or face certain death in the QZ. FEDRA isn’t exactly in the habit of letting residents waltz out the front gates, so It’s a good thing her grumpy neighbour is a smuggler. And, judging by what she’s overheard through their paper-thin apartment walls, he’s desperate for the very battery that she has to trade.
OR: An alternate telling of TLOU in which Joel still ends up on a cross-country journey with an infected girl, only this time he doesn’t know it.

Asleep one night, you're woken up and manhandled by a stranger named Joel who's been watching you and demands you to give up all your weapons and supplies. He's not afraid to use a little violence to get what he wants. Before he can kill you, you decide to make him an offer. If he can get you safely to the outpost, you'll vouch for him to get supplies and safe passage through to the next town. But what happens when you find the outpost has been completely abandoned and you're left in the middle of nowhere with with this terrifying man?
