Apollo was sure coming back to Japanifornia was going to include some tears, pain and other things of that kind kind, but he surely didn't expect that to happen as soon as he landed.
Of course he was glad to be back, after all he got to see his family, aka the WAA again after almost 2 years of only facetiming and texting, but he also got to see his boyfriend and other acquaintances again. Some he might even see as friends. But that doesn't change what happened 2 years ago.

“Chongyun,” Xingqiu starts nervously, suddenly very aware of all the people around them who are probably watching this entire spectacle unfold, “what are you—”
“Xingqiu,” Chongyun cuts him off, looking almost awed, “you have really pretty eyes.”
Any coherent thoughts Xingqiu might have had left have now flown right out of his head. He’s not sure if they’re ever going to come back. The only sound he manages to produce is an embarrassingly strangled “What?”
“Your eyes are really pretty,” he repeats, “just like the rest of you.”
Xingqiu underestimates just how unpredictable Chongyun can be when he overheats. What was supposed to be a harmless prank leaves him questioning their relationship, and the way he views his best friend.
Or: Xingqiu gets what's coming to him.
