His heartbeat was going crazy under the strain of moving sluggish, drugged-up blood through his heavy limbs. His stomach felt tied in an awful, demanding knot of tension and hunger. The stupid florescent lights in the Torchwood hallways burned his eyes.
But most of his concentration was on his bond with Rose – a thread, a spider’s string in his mind, tiny but strong. She was fine.
