Summary
Shinobu Kocho seems to be the pinnacle of tranquility. Living with an ever present smile, she struggles to carry on her late sister’s legacy of boundless kindness.
However, when Kyojuro Rengoku successfully takes up the mantle of flame pillar and finds himself recovering in the Butterfly Mansion, he unintentionally prods at the insect hashira’s facade. But Shinobu isn’t the only one who has suffered from loss, left to pick up the pieces.

Shinobu violated many codes when revivng Kanae with the Nezuko serum. Oyakata-sama was forgiving, but Kanae was not. She understood that leniency to a hashira who sheltered a demon would cause chaos in the Corps, and she would like to beat some sense into her younger sister and stop her path to self-destruction. She would be the one wielding the cane and break her sister if it was what she needed to do to stop Shinobu's recklessness.

“Oh dear!” Shinobu chirped, stepping foot into one of the hospital rooms. It sat quiet and stale, for the man occupying it was just as quiet and stale.
Tomioka Giyuu sat on one of the beds, dirtying the white comforter with the muck and grub of his mission, a reddish brown substance coated the entirety of his body, and dust cascaded off of him at the slightest jostle.
He looked thoroughly unimpressed, grumpy even. And Shinobu felt her smile stretch, the emptiness of it filling with mirth as her old teasing nature sprung back to life like lilies in the spring.
“So many boo-boo's, Giyuu. Do you need me to kiss them better?” She asked, making a kissy noise to boot.
