Haha wow! I think I read this on AO3 as well but I don’t recall the later chapters — this is simply stellar! I love fics that exploited Haruka’s gender to what some might see as a more extreme end but I don’t. Even though this an AU—I think also your characterization of Michiru is EXCELLENT—I think there’s so much to explore with the characters masks she wears. Who *is* Michiru Kaiou. I imagine Haruka/Uranus is one of the few that sees her beyond the mask—I mean, even when she awakens Michiru has that moment of being teary eyed and mumbling out her feelings; she doesn’t think she can have Haruka or those kind of feelings but Again and again Haruka is there but she’s still afraid for when she’s not, when she might be alone again. When she tries to save Haruka in the 90s anime and refers to her as Haruka and Uranus in her time of desperation! Haruka cuts through them (sword imagery jokes here) and *sees* her. -
