Excerpt::Recovering his breath seemed futile, as Stephen got whiplash when the Cloak spontaneously decided to bolt full speed to the right.
Stephen was getting flashbacks of his adventures riding horses back in Nebraska. He always seemed to get the wildest horse that would, more often than not, end up bolting. Despite his many frightening experiences, he was never afraid to get back on and try again, which was probably the reason he’d end up with the rowdy horses to begin with.
