Mr. Sam pursed his lips as if trying not to spook him. “An old friend of mine runs the studio and is hosting this free class as a recruitment of sorts. I figured you could use an outlet for all of that pent up energy you always have.”
Tommy opened his mouth to speak, but it took him a few seconds to find the right words. When he finally did, he winced at the way his voice lilted with uncertainty. “But…I’m not a dancer?”
Mr. Sam chuckled softy, nodding. “Maybe not, but I think you might surprise yourself.” When Tommy didn’t seem convinced, he added. “Listen, it’s not a commitment, just a single class. If you decide to go, it’s just to try it out and if you like it, you can keep going. If not, you forget about it and no harm done.”
Tommy bit his lip, glancing back down at the flyer. Mr. Sam certainly had a lot more faith in him than he himself did. And the last thing he wanted was to disappoint the person who’s class he actually looked forward to. His grip tightened almost out of determination, wrinkling the edges around his fingers. “...I’ll think about it.”

Techno leaned one hip against the table, watching. The alien who controlled the ship he was living on hit the side of his tablet with his hand, as though that would make a download work faster.
“I always find that helps,” Techno said dryly. “Electronic equipment likes it when you treat it like a shampoo bottle, I think.”
“Shut,” his owner said, pointing at him, and Techno’s heart stopped in his chest. He knew pets weren’t supposed to make noise-- he knew that very well-- but he’d thought that since they shared a language he was allowed to commentate on things? Phil had liked his jokes when he made them, he thought? He pressed suddenly damp palms to his legs. But the feathered alien was bent back over his tablet, muttering under his breath. “I fuckin’ know you’re a fuckin’ pet guidelines chip, but I want you to fuckin’ show me what my human can eat that’s actual food. C’mon, people feed their pets their food sometimes, don’t they?” He glanced at Techno, feathery brows lifted. “Don’t they?”
He didn’t seem mad. His owner was just making a fuss for impact. It was fine, this one was a good gig, he was fine. Techno made himself relax.

Techno frowned as he remembered the words his social worker had told him when dropping him off at this house. The worst part was she was right. They were perfect. Phil never yelled, never put his hands on any of them. Wilbur didn’t flaunt the fact that he was Phil’s bio kid, or that he was the oldest. Tommy didn’t invade his space or take his stuff. They hadn’t done anything wrong. Nothing. So it only hurt more that it wasn’t working. Techno was the problem. There was no denying it. He had no one to blame but himself.

“Oh, it’s good,” Techno said. “Everything’s good. The room’s good. Great!” He gestured to the room at large, taking in the sitting area with couches a little too low for his piglin frame, the desk he was definitely too big for, and the radiator that hissed at odd moments. “Everything’s just fine.”
The elytrian came around the front of the bed, closer to where Techno was sitting awkwardly hunched over the desk. “That’s good.” He tilted his head to the side, golden hair swinging. “I’m here to make sure that if you want anythin’, you can get it.” The man was wearing green robes that tied in the front, slit up the side to high on the hips. And seemingly, nothing underneath it. One shoulder of the robe slipped off his shoulder, exposing pale skin.
Techno fiddled anxiously with one of his pens, trying not to look at the man’s shoulder. He should pull that up, he was gonna get cold. The end cities were always cold. “I’m good! I don’t need anythin’.” He tried to smile, aware that after a day of being polite, it probably looked more anxious than placating. “Everythin’s been just great so far.”

So, when he was so close to the end of his shift at the coffee shop, a horrible smelling person stumbled in. Had they been just a few minutes later, Techno could’ve been home, enjoying not being in the middle of the streets when the first of the hordes started. But no, right at the end of his shift. Even zombies could be asshole customers.
The encounter went by in a blur, people screaming, Techno jabbing the end of a broom stick into the zombie’s eye, he may have even taken a hot cup of coffee and threw it at one of the undead. By then the gig was up, he couldn’t be in denial anymore.
Zombies were real, and they were the worst type of customer.

Or, Technoblade finds himself alone in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. He clears out an entire city of the undead but people from his past and particularly annoying thieves keep disrupting his peace. Being alone has reaped it's benefits but maybe he can try something new. -

The Watson family was a mob, of some sorts. Like a normal mafia group, they are out to get people, but instead they are out to get the bad guys. And although they were close, they all had things they didn't want to admit.
Technoblade Watson doesn't like kids. No matter what you try and say, he doesn't.
Ranboo $*#?@! doesn't need a family. No matter what you try and say, he doesn't.
Of course, both of those are false. But will they admit that? Never. That is, until the two meet at a bakery where Ranboo works. So, over time, as they somehow keep managing on bumping into each other, how could Techno not get attached to the kid?
The thing is, however.
Nothing good comes out of being associated with the mafia.
Especially not when someone is always watching, always waiting, and always looking for a way to hit them where it hurts.
Could they manage to form something incredible, despite all the obstacles to come?
It seemed nothing short of impossible.
